Wind: Electronic sensors: Instantaneous speed and direction to 10 degrees. One-minute average speed and direction to 10 degrees. (Conforms to NWS Federal Meteorological Handbook #9, Aviation Weather Observation, Chapter A8, Sections 3 & 3.5, Specifications for Supplemental Aviation Weather Reporting Stations.) Temperature: Electronic sensor: -40° to 158°F. Humidity: Electronic sensor: 10 to 90% RH. Barometer: Electronic sensor: 28.00 to 32.00 inches Hg. Rainfall: 8-inch diameter electronic tipping bucket rain gauge. Resolution 0.01". Sunshine: A silicon solar cell attached in place of the indoor humidity sensor. Solar intensity sensor calibrated to register 0 in darkness and 99 in direct sunlight at noon. Snow, ice pellets, glaze and other meteorological phenomenon not recorded by the Advanced Weather Computer are manually observed and recorded in the station record. A separate computer monitors the Weather Computer and automatically records electronically measured meteorological data on an hourly basis. Recorded are hourly means and extremes of all data. Hourly observations are also recorded. Daily extremes are also retrieved from the Weather Computer for redundancy.
