WxVoice is an automated voice-back system that
uses your PC's voice modem to speak the current and past weather
conditions over the telephone. WxVoice takes advantage of
Text-to-Speech (TTS) technology to produce a more natural sounding
dialogue than other products that use pre-recorded numbers and
phrases. WxVoice is an add-on product to WxSolution.
WxVoice uses the built-in Speech capabilities of Windows 2000 and XP.
Features:
- Five fully customizable messages (uses same tags as WxSolution):
- Greeting: Announces the name and
location of the station.
- Current: For the current
conditions.
- Current Day: Highs and lows for
today.
- Previous Day: Highs and lows for
yesterday.
- Closing: For any closing remarks.
- If no voice modem is installed, then WxVoice
will "speak" on the computer speakers.
System requirements:
-
Windows 2000 or XP. Windows NT4
does not support voice modems so it cannot be used with WxVoice.
-
Windows supported voice modem with its sound
drivers installed - must have "Unimodem half-duplex audio
driver" under "Sound, video and game controllers"
in Device Manager.
-
400 MHz Pentium II or higher processor.
-
64 MB RAM or higher.
